"Always Watching" lets survivors speak for themselves.
From children taken at just months old to families still searching for lost siblings decades later—these are the stories Australia needs to hear.
Not because they're comfortable. Because they're true..

The film begins with Elder song—a deliberate choice. Before words, before testimony, before pain is named, we hear the cultural foundation that removal tried to destroy but never could.
They were taken as infants. Some don't remember their mothers' faces. Others remember everything—the screaming, the struggle, the moment their childhood ended.
They grew up being told they weren't Aboriginal. Forced to forget their language. Punished for their skin. Taught to be ashamed of who they were.
Decades later, they're still searching. Link-Up NSW has reunited over 5,000 families, but thousands more are still looking. Still healing. Still waiting.
68 minutes of unfiltered truth. No narrator. No dramatic music. Just survivors—telling their stories, honoring their ancestors, and demanding Australia listen.
We end where we began: with culture. With survival. With hope that recognition brings healing.

Every Aboriginal family in Australia was affected by removal policies.
This is not distant history. These policies shaped the Australia we live in today.
These screenings aren't entertainment. They're ceremony. They're recognition. They're the beginning of reconciliation.
